Pattern making
$150 basic
The pattern making process starts with a 1st fit pattern. This can be made with reference to a design sketch or sample and to specified measurements. This pattern will likely need adjustments after fitting to improve how it sits on the body and placement of style details. Sampling and pattern adjustments are repeated until the garment is approved.
Patterns supplied in Dxf, Zip or PDF format.
Block drafting
From $150
A block is essentially a basic pattern used repeatedly as a basis for styles of the same fit. Only the details are changed, for example, the cuffs and collar of a slim fit shirt. The process of drafting a block is the same as for a pattern.
Tech pack
$150
The supporting documentation for a style going into manufacture. The tech pack is used to communicate design, materials, measurements and other technical aspects pertinent to the style. It is updated as the garment progresses through production and also records quality control.
Tech pack supplied in Excel and/or PDF format
Spec sheet
Circa $90
Not the full tech-pack, this lists the garment measurements and is used to communicate pattern alterations from fit-to-fit.
Supplied in Excel and/or PDF format
Toile (twahl)
$75 - $120
This is a basic mock-up of the pattern using inexpensive fabric. It is made without hems or trims, and where possible, style details such as patch pockets or detail seams are drawn onto the fabric. The purpose is to check silhouette, design and eliminate any obvious fit defects. The pattern can then be altered accordingly.
Grading
from $75
Size grading happens once the style is approved and no more alterations need to be made to the pattern. Patterns can be graded into as many or few sizes as necessary, following industry standard grade rules, or custom specification.
